BHEL Exam Date 2025: Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), one of India’s premier engineering and manufacturing enterprises, has announced the exam dates for its recruitment drive for 2025. The recruitment is for the positions of Engineer Trainee (ET) and Supervisor Trainee (ST), with a total of 400 vacancies up for grabs. BHEL Vacancy Details
BHEL is looking to fill 150 Engineer Trainee positions and 250 Supervisor Trainee positions across various engineering disciplines. The tentative places of posting for these positions include BHEL’s manufacturing units in Trichy, Ranipet, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Haridwar, Bhopal, and Vizag, as well as various Power Sector Sites across India.
BHEL Eligibility Criteria
For Engineer Trainees:
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a full-time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology or a five-year integrated Master’s degree or Dual Degree program in Engineering/Technology in the relevant discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Electronics, Chemical, or Metallurgy) from a recognized Indian University/Institute.
- Age Limit: The upper age limit is 27 years as of 1st February 2025. However, candidates with a two-year full-time Post Graduation in Engineering or Business Administration/Management can avail an age relaxation up to 29 years.
For Supervisor Trainees:
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must have a full-time regular Diploma in Engineering in the relevant discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Electronics) from a recognized Indian University/Institute with a minimum of 65% marks (relaxable to 60% for SC/ST candidates).
- Age Limit: The upper age limit is 27 years as of 1st February 2025.
BHEL Selection Process
For Engineer Trainees:
The selection process for Engineer Trainees involves a Computer-Based Examination (CBE) followed by an Interview. The CBE will carry 75% weightage, while the Interview will carry 25% weightage in the final merit list. Candidates will be shortlisted for the Interview based on their performance in the CBE, with a ratio of 1:5 (i.e., five candidates will be called for the Interview for every vacancy).
For Supervisor Trainees:
The selection process for Supervisor Trainees is a two-stage process:
- Computer-Based Examination (CBE): Candidates will be shortlisted for Document Verification based on their CBE performance, with a ratio of 1:3.
- Document Verification: This is a qualifying stage, and the final merit list will be prepared based on the CBE scores.

Training and Compensation
Selected candidates will undergo a one-year training period. During this period, Engineer Trainees will receive a basic pay of Rs 50,000/-, while Supervisor Trainees will receive Rs 32,000/-. After successful completion of the training, Engineer Trainees will be absorbed as Engineers with a basic pay of Rs 60,000/-, and Supervisor Trainees will be absorbed as Supervisors with a basic pay of Rs 33,500/-.
