Job Requirements

Essential Qualifications

Certification in Automotive or Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanics from a recognized institution.

Experience in repair and maintenance of commercial automotive and heavy-duty equipment.

English proficiency is required.

Additional Qualifications (Asset Skills)

🔹 Experience in repairing heavy-duty equipment such as firefighting, refueling, or runway equipment.

🔹 Experience in troubleshooting and using SAP-based programs.

🔹 Mentoring experience in on-the-job training.

Operational Requirements

✔ Must be willing and able to:

  • Obtain a DND 404 permit.
  • Work indoors & outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Travel when required for training or technical conferences.
  • Work overtime and on-call standby duties.
  • Wear CSA-approved safety footwear and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Work Environment

This role involves working in a dynamic workshop environment with exposure to:

✔ Confined spaces.
✔ Loud noises, fumes, and dust.
✔ Heights and uneven surfaces.

Conditions of Employment

✔ Must pass Reliability Status Security Clearance.
Physical fitness to perform tasks such as lifting (up to 15 kg), climbing, and prolonged standing.
Valid Canadian driver’s license (Class 5 in Alberta or equivalent).
✔ Compliance with DND and CAF ethics policies.
