France has announced a €2 billion ($2.1 billion) military aid package for Ukraine, reinforcing its unwavering support in the face of ongoing Russian aggression. French President Emmanuel Macron made the declaration during a press conference in Paris alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“We must continue to provide immediate support to Ukraine — it is necessary to keep up the resistance,” Macron emphasized after unveiling the aid.
What’s Included in the Aid Package?
This substantial military assistance will equip Ukraine with:
- Anti-tank missiles
- Air defense systems
- Mirage fighter jet missiles
- Armored vehicles
- Ammunition and other critical supplies
- Support for military production within Ukraine
A Strategic Move for Peace and Security
Macron underscored that the goal of this package is twofold: strengthening Ukraine’s defense on the front lines while also paving the way for lasting peace.
“Our objective is not only to help Ukraine defend itself but also to bring closer the prospects of a stable peace that we all hope for,” he said.

Global Allies Rally in Support
The announcement comes just ahead of the “Coalition of the Willing” summit, scheduled for March 27 in Paris. Representatives from Germany, Poland, the U.K., and other supporting nations will gather to discuss:
- Future military aid for Ukraine
- Ceasefire monitoring and enforcement
- Restructuring and strengthening the Ukrainian military
- Long-term security commitments
Over 30 countries have already pledged their support for the coalition’s post-war security efforts. According to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s office, the initiative has moved into an “operational phase.”
Ceasefire Talks: Will Russia Agree?
Ukraine has expressed willingness to accept a U.S.-brokered 30-day ceasefire if Russia agrees to the same terms. However, Moscow has rejected an unconditional ceasefire so far, casting uncertainty over the path forward.
With France’s latest commitment, Ukraine continues to receive critical international backing as it defends its sovereignty and strives for long-term stability.
