Doral, Florida – Former President Donald Trump is once again lashing out at House Democrats, this time calling for the expulsion of lawmakers attempting to impeach him, calling their actions “radical,” “lawless,” and “insane.”
In a fiery post on Truth Social Thursday night, Trump blasted Reps. Shri Thanedar (D-Mich.) and Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.), who introduced a new impeachment resolution against him earlier this week. The former president dismissed the effort as “political theater” and argued that those behind it should be removed from Congress entirely.
“These Radical Left Lunatics are into the ‘Impeachment thing’ again,” Trump wrote. “The Republicans should start thinking about expelling them for all the crimes they’ve committed.”

“No Name Whackjobs”: Trump Unleashes on Impeachment Sponsors
Trump didn’t hold back. In typical fashion, he blasted the two Democrats spearheading the impeachment attempt, branding them as “No Name,” “little respected,” and “total Whackjobs.”
“They have no idea what I would even be impeached for,” he said. “This is their 20th attempt, and it’s just embarrassing.”
The resolution introduced by Thanedar includes seven articles of impeachment, accusing Trump of executive overreach, including deporting a Maryland resident without due process and redirecting government funds without congressional authorization.
But the resolution appears to be losing momentum, even within the Democratic ranks.

Momentum Fading in Congress
House Democrats including Reps. Kweisi Mfume (D-Md.), Robin Kelly (D-Ill.), and Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) have since distanced themselves from the effort. Some formally withdrew their support, casting doubt on the seriousness or legitimacy of the push.
“This is just recycled impeachment theatrics,” said GOP strategist James Holloway. “The public’s tired of it, and many Democrats quietly are too.”
With Republicans holding the House majority, the resolution is almost certain to fail.
Trump Fires Back with Counter-Demands
Instead of playing defense, Trump turned the tables — demanding Democratic lawmakers who support impeachment be expelled from Congress. He accused them of “real crimes” tied to issues ranging from the southern border crisis to the Afghanistan withdrawal.
“Maybe it should be for cleaning up the MESS they left on the Border or the Highest Inflation in our Country’s History,” he wrote.
“Or… the incompetent Withdrawal from Afghanistan… or the October 7th Israel attack they enabled by letting Iran grow rich again.”
He even revived attacks on Rep. Adam Schiff, claiming Schiff and members of the January 6 committee had to seek pardons to avoid consequences for their conduct.
“Remember, ‘Shifty’ Schiff demanded a pardon,” Trump claimed. “They had to use an Auto Pen just to save him and his Unselect Committee from Expulsion.”
The Bigger Picture: Trump’s 2025 Strategy?
Analysts see the former president’s Truth Social tirade as part of a broader strategy. With the 2026 midterms approaching and legal clouds still looming over him, Trump is rallying his base by painting impeachment efforts as persecution — not prosecution.
“He’s flipping the script,” said political analyst Lara Benson. “If you go after him, he says he’ll go after you harder. That message plays well with MAGA loyalists and keeps his grip on the GOP ironclad.”
While the impeachment resolution may go nowhere legislatively, it’s already had an impact: reigniting partisan firestorms, galvanizing Trump supporters, and further polarizing Washington.

Final Word
Despite little chance of success in the House, this latest impeachment effort has drawn the attention of the Republican base — and with Trump turning it into a rallying cry, the political fallout could stretch well into the next election cycle.
“They hate our country,” Trump wrote. “And everything it stands for. Maybe it’s time we start playing the same game — only better.”
